SIBU: Advisor of People’s Justice Party (PKR) Sarawak Dato Sri Habsah Harun is hoping more subbranches of PKR be set up in the villages here.

“This is for our members and the people here to be able to give a stronger voice and unity to seek assistance or attention from the government.

“Besides, this sub-branch could also assist us to nurture unity among the members comprising various races and religious backgrounds,” she said when officiating at the formation of the PKR Kampung Jeriah Sub-branch’s operation room nearby the Kampung Jeriah Babusalam mosque here yesterday. Habsah also urged the PKR members not to adopt a proud and arrogant attitude towards the people who wish to air their grievance or seek help from them.

“We are already now a ruling party, thus we must change our way of thinking and action. “Don’t be proud and boastful; we should try to deal with people rightfully, logically and softly… not with frightening or arrogant way, because people will be more accommodative with softer way,” she stated.

Meanwhile in his speech, chairman of PKR Kampung Jeriah Subbranch Willie Zainal said the subbranch membership stood at 171 and would increase over time. Thus he hoped the leadership of PKR at top level would consider rendering allocation for them to build a more comfortable operation room.

“At present time we could only make use of a residence’s garage as a venue for us to gather and hold meeting. “Hence we hope our request will be fulfilled by our leaders for the comfort of our members in the area,” he stated. The event was attended by about 100 residents in and around Kampung Jeriah.
