MUKAH: It was a memorable Hari Raya Aidilfitri shopping for Mohd Salehe B Mat at the Furniture Expo 2018 held at Dewan Suarah Mesra here when he won a sofa set after his ticket was drawn as the first prize on Sunday night.
Salehe also took home a pillow as a consolation prize winner.
The second prize was of a Laviva Back Guard mattress was won by Liza Bt Sylvester Boahari while the third prize went to Misi Bt Hamzah who won a dining table set (1+6 wooden dining set) and also a Laviva Back Guard mattress after she was named the biggest spender at the expo.
Jacky Low Poh Shen who was the second top spender brought home a Laviva Comfy Tapper while the third top spender Francisca Bt Hai won a latex pillow who also won another pillow for being a consolation prize winner.
Other consolation prize winners were Nur Hashima Bt Yusuf, Mastijah Bt Saibi, Tang Ngik Ling and Yik Ung Hwe.
The five-day expo from 23 to 27 May was held in conjunction with Hari Gawai Dayak Festival and Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2018.
Meanwhile, Liza when met after the draw said as if she was destined to win the mattress because she was eligible for the draw after buying the bed.
“During this expo I bought the bed only and I never expect to win the mattress. So instead of having just a bed from this expo, now it is a complete set with a mattress,” she said, adding that the price of the mattress was more expensive than the bed. According to the Public Furniture Showroom manager, Kelly Ching, it was the second expo to be held by them in Mukah.
“The response had been very encouraging to this expo, and indeed this is our second one to be held at Dewan Suarah, and the first expo was last year,” she said.
She also hoped the customers who could not made it to that just concluded expo to visit their showroom at Jalan Orang Kaya Setiaraja Mukah as varieties of items await the customers.
