KUALA LUMPUR: Perlis have confirmed the signing of former national midfielder Mohd Badhri Radzi, 36, for next season’s third-tier competition, the FAM Cup.
The Perlis Football Association (PFA) announced the signing of the former Kelantan skipper, fondly known as ‘Piya’, on their official Facebook page – Northern Lions Perlis – yesterday.
PFA also managed to secure the services of two other former national players, Mohd K Amirizdwan Taj Tajuddin from Kelantan and Mohd Khyril Muhymeen Zambri from PKNS FC.
Fahrul Razi Kamaruddin has also joined the Northern Lions after his club Sime Darby FC pulled out of the Malaysia League (M-League) due to financial difficulties. PFA had earlier announced the appointment of former Ministry of Finance FC’s Manzoor Azwira Abdul Wahid as their head coach for the new season.
Perlis must be hoping he can wield his magic wand again, having led them to the Super League title in 2005 and Malaysia Cup glory twice in 2004 and 2006. This season, Perlis failed to qualify for the FAM Cup semi-finals after finishing fifth in the seven-team Group B. –Bernama
