KUCHING: Many non-governmental organisations (NGOs) have come forward to help the needy during this difficult period of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Recently, the Rotary Club of Sri Kenyalang (RCSK) provided assistance to underprivileged individuals and disabled care centres in the state.

Its treasurer Victoria Hwang said through the RCSK platform, the Rotarians managed to raise money to buy 18 cans of milk to help a cancer patient who could only eat by using a tube.

“We are happy to carry out this project because it brings changes to the lives of other people,” she said.

She hoped that more individuals or organisations would come forward to help the less fortunate, especially those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, about 20 food packages co-sponsored by RCSK and Datin Shentel Lee, founder of Kuching Food Aid were presented to Cheshire Home Care Centre here.

The care centre manager Phyliss Ode said that the Malaysian Family concept was a manifestation of the actions of individuals or NGOs to help ease the burden of the disabled.
