Nidji and Masterpiece among Indonesian and Sarawakian bands for December concert

KUCHING: Three Indonesian and four Sarawakian bands are expected to serenade an expected crowd of 10,000 to 15,000 at the ‘BORNEO SARXINDO CONCERT’.

‘BORNEO SARXINDO CONCERT’ is organised by HNE UNITE LEGACY and is scheduled to take place at the Sarawak Cultural Village on Dec 1 and 2.

Popular Indonesian band Nidji, known for their hit song ‘Hapus Aku’, and Sarawakian band Masterpiece, famous for their Iban song ‘Ngarap Ke Nuan Nikal Pulai’, are among the bands scheduled to perform.

The others are ST12 (Indonesia), Dadali (Indonesia), Senseless (Sarawak), Meruked (Sarawak), Alu Alu Band (Sarawak) and BNB Band (Sarawak).

The event will feature a day mini-concert, cultural shows, and various cultural activities held over the two days.

“We believe that ‘SARXINDO’ has the potential to significantly boost tourism in Sarawak, by showcasing the rich cultural heritage of our state and fostering cultural exchanges with our Indonesian neighbours, this event will draw the attention of tourists from both within Malaysia and abroad.

“The presence of internationally renowned artists such as ST12, Nidji and Dadali will undoubtedly attract a diverse and enthusiastic audience, including music enthusiasts and cultural aficionados from various regions,” the organiser said in a press statement.

The two-day early bird ticket prices include platinum zone VIP (RM915), gold zone VIP (RM707), rock zone (RM499), and GA standing zone (RM250).

HNE senior manager Izzat Adnan said student rates are available for RM100 and students are required to present their student cards when purchasing the tickets.

“Tickets can be purchased at https://www.ticket2u.com.my/events/32941, however for student rates, students would need to purchase the tickets at a separate website that will be announced at a later date,” he said at a media meet-and-greet session on today (Oct 12).

He also revealed that tickets would also be able for purchase at the entrance of the Sarawak Cultural Village.
