KUCHING: The mission to protect Sarawak from any threat and at the same time assisting the local authority in preserving the country’s peace and unity must be done without any compromise, said Malaysia First Infantry Division Major General Toh Choon Siang.

He said the First Division Infantry must always be in high spirits and continues to ensure that the history and heroic acts by the previous warriors will be heard through times.

“This matter requires a high preparation at every level and each commanding level must be willing to ensure that the effort and focus given will continue to put the First Division Infantry as an efficient and sustainable division,” said Too during the First Division Infantry ‘Perbarisan Pembacaan Perintah Ulung Panglima’ ceremony held at Muara Tuang camp, in Kota Samarahan, yesterday.

Toh also admitted that although faced with various difficulties in terms of members, logistic equipment and also financial resources, it is not an obstacle for the First Division Infantry to attain a sustainable growth.

“The lack or resources is common in every organisation, but the way we manage the limited resources would help to solve any need.

“The 31st Bridgade membership is about 70 per cent, and we need a lot of support equipment to help us protect our borders,” he said,

Toh hoped that with the new administration, they will pay more attention towards the military funding to ensure that the military could do their job properly.

He also urged all the First Division members to continue fostering their comradeship in helping each other and working together in order to achieve a common goal.
