Nor Haikal out to prove himself at IESF Romania C’ship

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug16 (Bernama) — National e-sports professional player, Mohamad Nor Haikal Mohamad Noh is eyeing the opportunity to prove his ability at the International Esports Federation (IESF) Romania Championship 2023 in the eFootball category from Aug 21 to Sept 4.

The 24-year-old athlete, who holds the crown as the world’s first-ranked player in eFootball 2023, hopes that he can grab a podium position and become the first Malaysian player to make a name for himself at the world championship.

“I want to prove that in Malaysia there are players who can win the world championship because if you look at our neighbouring country, Indonesia, last season they had players who could become world champions and beat players from great countries like Brazil and Spain,” he told Bernama.

Mohamad Nor Haikal,who hails from in Kota Tinggi, Johor said this tournament has also fired up his spirit after he managed to rank 32 out of more than 100 eFootball players in the last edition in Bali, Indonesia.

“I took half a year to prepare for Romania. I hope that what I did, what I went through during training, and what mistakes I made during the first tournament I will not repeat in this second tournament,” he said.

He said, at the same time, he is optimistic about being able to climb to the number one ranking in the eFootball 2024 Division 1 sports world, after the video game is officially launched at the end of this month. –  BERNAMA
