KUCHING: The Organisation for Addiction Prevention Treatment and Rehabilitation (OAPTAR) is recognised as a trusted training provider by the Colombo Plan Drug Advisory Program.

Cindy Biding, the president of OAPTAR, highlighted the organisation’s efforts over the past four years led to various initiatives in empowering, preventing and providing treatment with the necessary skills to address substance abuse effectively within the communities.

“OAPTAR’s primary initiatives are its school-based prevention programme, featuring the effective Healthy Lifestyle Programme for primary schools and the Wellness Champion Programme for secondary schools,” she said during their ‘Berbuka Puasa’ with local media at Serapi Hotel yesterday.

In her speech, Cindy pointed out that OAPTAR programmes focuses on skills-building and resilience activities, empowering students to make healthy decisions and withstand peer pressure.

“By partnering with universities and research institutions, we aim to provide valuable insights about the relevant policies and practice at local, national and international levels,” she said.
