KUCHING: Hock Seng Lee (HSL) is organising the return of La Promenade Mall’s Oktoberfest, slated for Sept 14 until Oct 8, from Thursday to Sunday.
The four-weekend festival is the second time La Promenade is hosting Oktoberfest.
HSL said last year’s Oktoberfest attracted between 2,000 and 3,000 people nightly which was more than anticipated.
For this year,HSL is doubling the size of the event, where there will be live music every night, twice the number of food tenants, more marques, more seats, giveaways featuring La Promenade’s new retailer Siong How Exclusive, and even car shows.
Last year’s most popular bands, Mozaik and modern Sarawak band At Adau will also return. Uniquely, Mozaik and At Adau will play their own sets and then jam together on the opening weekend, on Sept 16 (a public holiday) and the night of Sept 17.
“The stage is larger, there are better speakers, more of the audience will have a front row view. And, importantly, we’ve also made sure to have quieter chill-out zones at our Oktoberfest, for those who just want to enjoy the company of friends and families,” said digital marketing manager Sophia Ong.
“There will be a special preview of Iced Bar, a new cocktail bar coming to La Promenade Mall later this year. The mixologist Clare Geena will be offering up cocktail classics with Sarawakian twists.”
