PADAWAN: Police are currently pursuing two groups of men apparently in possession of dangerous objects in public places, following a viral video on social media.

The 23-second clip shows the groups engaged in a heated dispute at a parking space in Jalan Batu Kawa, with some brandishing hazardous objects.

The video, uploaded to Telegram, has garnered over 22,000 views.

Padawan police chief Supt Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad confirmed that while no formal report was received, the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) has made a formal complaint to initiate investigation into the incident.

“We have identified several suspects and will be making arrests soon.

“The police, with support from the D7 and D9 branches of the Sarawak CID, are launching an operation to arrest all individuals involved in the video.

“We take any criminal activity in our district seriously,” he said.

The public is encouraged to provide information to assist with the investigation and to trust the police in maintaining law and order.
