BALINGIAN: A Gawai Raya Open House was successfully held at Balingian Sub-District Office here last Wednesday.
Aimed at celebrating the just concluded Gawai Dayak and on-going Hari Raya, the auspicious occasion was officiated by Mukah District Officer, Shafrie Saili.
Also present at the function were Special Assistant to Balingian Assemblyman, Che Ghazali Arbi, Assistant Administrative Officer of Balingian Sub-District, Mohd Haikal Sabot, heads of departments, local community leaders and representatives from various organisations here.
More than two hundred people from all walks of life attended the event held at the compound of the sub-district office.
Shafrie in his speech touched on projects implemented in the area namely, community halls, redevelopment of the field of the old stadium and the cleanliness of the district.
Hence, he hoped that the people would be patient as the development projects would come to the area based on priority and allocations.
While enjoying the Gawai and Hari Raya delicacies, the guests were also entertained to karaoke singing from the floor.
