Over RM5b in revenue as of April 30

SARAWAK collected a revenue of RM5.004 billion or 45 per cent of the projected revenue of RM11.035 billion as of April 30 this year.

The revenue was among others collected from state sales tax of RM1.906 billion and cash compensation in lieu of oil and gas rights which amounted to RM1.621 billion, said Deputy Premier cum Second Minister of Finance and Economy Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.

He said it also includes dividends of RM751 million; raw water royalty of RM171 million; interest income of RM258 million; forestry receipts of RM103 million; land premium of RM43 million, federal grants and reimbursement of RM24 million and other sources such as mining royalties, water sales, and land rents of RM127 million.

He said this in his ministerial winding-up speech during the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting on today (May 23).

Uggah also revealed that the state had spent RM1.241 billion or 31 per cent of its approved Ordinary Expenditure for 2023 as of April 30 this year.

As for Development Expenditure, a sum of RM845 million or 11 per cent has been expended.

“In this respect, I urge all controlling officers and heads of departments to continue their commitment to ensuring the successful execution of projects under their purview as well as ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget, and that the targeted project outcomes are met,” he said.
