KUCHING: Oya District welcomed the Jalur Gemilang Merdeka Convoy organised in conjunction with the Dalat District National Day Celebration recently.

Administrative Officer of the Oya District Office, Shah Hazizul, hoped that the Information Department would continue to promote the Fly the Jalur Gemilang Campaign.

“Furthermore, there should be more emphasis on the correct procedures for the installation and hoisting of the national flag.

“This is because it is a sign of respect for the Malaysian flag,” he said.

Meanwhile, District Information Officer of Dalat, Maria Tungkat, explained that this programme aimed to further ignite the spirit of patriotism.

“In addition, it aims to foster unity regardless of religion and ethnicity.

“Not only that, it also aims to strengthen the existing harmony among the Sarawak community,” she said.

The programme saw the participation of 16 vehicles from various government and non-government agencies, community leaders, and individuals who provided support to further enliven the programme.
