KUCHING: 40 teams have registered to join and compete in the upcoming Padawan International 4×4 Challenge 2017 that will be held on today (July 21) until July 23, 2017 at Bengoh Resettlement Scheme (BRS).
Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) Deputy Municipal Chairman Dato Ahmad Ibrahim said the event targeted a total of 60 teams from local and international participants.
“We still receiving registration and hope more to come joining the challenge,” he said in a press conference at Pullman Hotel, yesterday.
He also said that besides the challenge, there are also other event happening during the three days.
“We will have Bengoh Cultural Carnival, Miss Bengoh Culture Final, exhibitions, sukan rakyat and food bazaar of local delicacies,”he said.
He added that the event will be launched by Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian who will be representing Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg.
The event is divided into three categories namely Category A (full modification), Group B (semi modification) and Group C (Standard 4×4).
