Palestine coach cites focus issue in match with Iran , sees qualification chance

DOHA: The coach of the Palestinian national team, Makram Daboub, has expressed his disappointment over his team’s 1-4 loss to Iran in the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023,  Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.

Daboub stated after the match that the game’s start was challenging for the players, particularly after conceding an early goal, which disrupted their momentum.

“The team aims to rectify its mistakes in the next two group stage matches.

“The upcoming match against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) holds great significance in determining the Palestinian team’s chances of qualifying,” said Daboub.

The coach of the Palestine team added that his players faced a formidable opponent, a strong contender for the title, and attributed the loss to a lack of focus.

He expressed gratitude to the numerous fans who attended the match to support the team, hoping that this support would persist throughout the rest of the team’s journey in the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023.
