KUCHING: Pending assemblywoman Violet Yong went to Medan Niaga Satok yesterday to learn about the hawkers’ grievances after a discussion with the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (Fama).
Yong said she was called by some of the hawkers on Thursday afternoon. After getting their feedback, she met up with state director of Fama, Shahid Abu Bakar to see how they could solve the issues.
The market was under the Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) and was then handed over to Fama.
After the meeting, Yong went back to the hawkers to explain how to best deal with all their issues.
