PHB, MAM declare AHB income distribution

KUALA LUMPUR: Pelaburan Hartanah Bhd (PHB) and Maybank Asset Management Sdn Bhd (MAM) have declared a final income distribution of 2.5 sen per unit for Amanah Hartanah Bumiputera (AHB) unit trust, for the six-month period ended Sept 30, 2023. In a statement yesterday, PHB said the income distribution involves a payout totalling RM112 million to approximately 73,000 unit holders.

“This distribution consists of a basic income distribution of 2.25 sen a unit, as well as an additional bonus distribution of 0.25 sen per unit which is funded by PHB, AHB’s sponsor, to be distributed for the first 500,000 units held by a unit holder. “Income received by unit holders is not only tax-free, but also net of zakat.

The unit holders can expect the income to be credited directly into their bank account or AHB unit trust account on Oct 13, 2023,” it said. PHB group managing director/ chief executive officer Mohamad Damshal Awang Damit said the competitive income distribution is a testament to the group’s ability to navigate the ever-changing financial and property market landscape and deliver stable returns to AHB unit holders.

“We remain committed to managing AHB’s real estate portfolio with diligence and executing strategies aimed at improving its performance.

“This involves integrating innovative financial solutions within AHB, forming strategic alliances to expand AHB’s distribution network and capitalising on environment, social and corporate governance activities to create holistic value,” he said. He added that AHB’s accomplishment underscores PHB’s dedication to assisting the unit holders in wealth creation through direct ownership of quality real estate assets.

In April 2023, PHB and MAM declared an interim income distribution of 2.20 sen a unit, with a bonus distribution of 0.30 sen per unit for the six-month period ended March 31, 2023. – BERNAMA
