LIMBANG: A Philippines national was found dead by his colleagues at a timber camp at Jalan Kubong around noon on Friday.
Prior to his death, Joiney Carbajosa, 46, was said to be cutting trees in the area with his colleagues at around 8.00am.
Limbang District Police chief, Supt Mohd Bukhori Saffai said the victim’s colleagues were having lunch at around noon when they discovered that he was missing.
“They (colleagues) started looking for the victim and later found him face down in the mud and crushed under the branches that they had just cut from the trees.
“They immediately reported the incident to the camp’s supervisor. The case is classified as sudden death,” he said.
Mohd Bukhori added that the body had been taken to Limbang Hospital for a post-mortem.
