KUCHING: The Indonesia government through Jakarta and Kalimantan Barat (Kalibar) in collaboration with Sarawak and Kuala Lumpur is planning to open up Aruk-Biawak border for entry as well as exit of vehicles and goods exactly like Entikong-Tebedu in the nearest time.

This was stated by Indonesian Consulate-General in Kuching, Jahar Gultom in a press conference after the celebration of the 72nd Independence Day of Indonesia Republic at Kuching Indonesian Consulate Office (KJRI), Jalan Stutong here, yesterday.

He said that the opening up of the border for vehicles and goods are much needed by the Indonesians especially those in Sambas as they often come to Kuching.

“Even those in Kuching that need to fly out of the country and when needing to return, they need to pass by Pontianak to Jakarta.

“It might be more efficient if they want to come to Kuching with only going through Aruk and to go out from the state through Kuching,” he explained.
