The fire razed the wooden quarters into ashes.

BINTULU:  Twenty plantation workers were left homeless yesterday after fire razed two blocks of their quarters in in Sungai Asap by Jalan Bakun.

Eight firemen from Bintulu fire station were rushed to the scene after receiving an alert at 10.36am and managed to bring down the fire around 3.21pm.

No injuries were reported in the incident that occurred some 215km from Bintulu town.

Out of the20, nine victims were Malaysians; the rest were Indonesians.

The actual cause of the incident is not immediately known as investigations are underway.
