Police hunting for Lundu murder suspect

LUNDU: A 25-year old man working as a plantation worker was found dead with a bruised and bloodied face.

The body was found by the roadside near an oil palm company in Lundu.

It was believed that the deceased was beaten to death with a sharp object.

Lundu police chief DSP Damataries Lautin in a statement said that the suspect may be tall, lanky, fair skinned and donning a grey shirt and was driving a silver Bezza prior to the incident.

According to a witness, a fight broke out between the deceased and the suspect.

“The deceased was waiting for his brother at a guardhouse when a silver Bezza approached him.

“Several minutes after the deceased approached the silver Bezza, there was a dispute which caused the suspect to chase after the deceased,” the witness said.

The deceased, when found, was wearing a black shirt and light blue shorts.

Currently Lundu police are in search of the suspect.

The deceased was taken to Lundu Hospital for forensic investigation to ascertain the cause of death.
