LUNDU: PBB Tanjong Datu Women’s wing yesterday lodged a police report against a Facebook account holder for allegedly posting on his/her page a seditious and insulting statement against Tanjong Datu assemblywoman Datuk Amar Jamilah Anu.

PBB Tanjong Datu Women’s chief Fatimah Abdullah, who filed the report at Lundu Police Station alleged that the post was also defamatory to women in general. She was accompanied by several members of the movement.

She claimed that the Facebook post also used vulgar words which were unacceptable.

“That’s why we lodged a police report. We also want further action by the Malaysia Multimedia Communication Commission (MMCC) and relevant agencies,” she added.

Fatimah said insulting their assemblywoman was equivalent to insulting their mother, adding, “I hope this would serve as a lesson.”

In her police report, Fatimah said at about 2pm on Jan 11, they received text messages on their WhatsApp group informing them that their elected representative had been insulted and defamed by a Facebook page owned by one Kristina Kristina.
