KUCHING: A delegation from Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad (BPHB) paid a courtesy visit on Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud at Demak Jaya, Petra Jaya yesterday (May 23).

Led by the chief executive officer of BPHB, Ruslan Abdul Ghani, the visit aimed to express BPHB’s appreciation to Tun Taib for his vision in developing Samalaju Port over a decade ago.

“Without the construction of the port, we (Sarawak) would not have a world-class port to meet the needs of the Samalaju region and Sarawak as a whole,” said Ruslan.

He conveyed BPHB’s commitment to developing and preserving the Samalaju region while assisting the Sarawak government in the advancement of the Bintulu and Samalaju ports.
