Premier leads delegation to Poland for Central European energy forums

KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg is spearheading a delegation to Poland, marking a significant step in the state’s engagement with Central European energy initiatives.

The delegation, alongside Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and Sarawak State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, reached Poznan, Poland, for an official two-day visit.

Welcoming the Sarawak government delegation were Vice President of the Wielkopolska Region, Marek Gola, and director of the Department of Economic Affairs of the Wielkopolska Region, Beata Joana.

Also present were the head of the Wielkopolska 2050 Division, Magdalena Kaseja-Astriab, and the Malaysian Ambassador to Poland, Datuk Chitra Devi Ramiah, along with the Permanent Secretary of the Sarawak Ministry of Energy and Environment Sustainability, Abang Ahmad Abang Morni.

During the visit, Abang Johari will participate in the Central European Hydrogen Technology Forum and the Central European Decarbonisation Forum as a panellist, from April 24 to 25.

He will deliver a sppech on Sarawak’s insights into energy transition, renewable energy security, decarbonisation, and environmental sustainability as part of the Debate Regions for the Planet panel discussion.
