KUCHING: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg received two courtesy calls at his office here, yesterday.

The first courtesy call was from the director-general of the Implementation and Coordination Unit in the Prime Minister’s Department Putrajaya, Datuk Ruji Ubi. He was accompanied by the Sarawak director of Development Department, Jasni Jubli and outgoing director, Datuk Hasnul Mohamed who had served in the state over the last two years.

During the visit, the officers discussed on poverty eradication programmes in Sarawak as well as federal projects planned and those under implementation in Sarawak.

“We need to speed up the projects because about RM4.1 billion have been allocated to the state under the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP),” said Ruji.

Abang Johari received a second courtesy call the Police Force Commission (SPP), led by Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mohd Azman Ahmad Sapri.

The delegation included Norzanah Buang who was recently appointed to the commission. They discussed various matters pertaining to the police commission, such as the progress and performance of the police officers, especially from Sarawak and plans to upgrade and enhance the welfare of the officers from the state.
