Premier visits Sibu Central Market, mingles with local traders

SIBU: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg visited the Sibu Central Market here and mingled with local traders as well as members of the public today.

Abang Johari together with his delegation walked from Tanahmas to the bustling market at 8:15am.

He was accompanied Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah; Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Dr Annuar Rapaee; Deputy Minister of Public Health, Local Government and Housing Michael Tiang; Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) chairman Clarence Ting and other dignitaries.

After browsing stalls selling various local produce, Abang Johari and his delegation headed to the market’s food court for breakfast.

Members of the public including stall operators took the opportunity to greet and take selfies with their beloved state leaders.

Previously, Abang Johari attended the Sarawak Day Celebration 2022 at Sibu Indoor Stadium which was officiated by Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud on yesterday (July 22) night.
