KUCHING: Sarawak is blessed with harmony and peace, despite its diverse religions and ethnicities, and Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan wants the people to preserve this prevailing stability.

Advising them not to be influenced by extreme cultures and ideologies, the Deputy Premier said the tradition of visiting and seeking forgiveness from one another in Sarawak should be maintained to strengthen ties among their families and friends.

“Let us express our gratitude to Allah S.W.T. With His guidance and permission, once again this year we are able to complete our fasting and celebrate this festival in a harmonious atmosphere.

“As we approach the auspicious Syawal, I would like to extend my greetings of ‘Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri’ to everyone celebrating it,” he said in his Hari Raya message here today.

“To those returning to their hometowns for the celebrations, I pray for a safe journey to your loved ones. May we all remain under the protection of Allah S.W.T. Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf Zahir dan Batin,” he said.
