The flood situation at SK Adin in Sare.

SARIKEI: A primary school here went about its usual routine despite being inundated with floodwaters early Tuesday (Nov 1).

SK Adin in Sare was among three areas in the district – the others being Bayong and Kampung Seberang, that were flooded due to the high tide and heavy rain since Monday afternoon (Oct 31).

The situation had caused concern among the 104 students, teachers and staff of the school as floods rarely happened at the school.

It was understood that the school’s daily session was not affected and went on as usual.

Sarikei fire station chief Narudin Mahmudin said flooding happened for just a few hours before the waters receded around 7am.

The water level was reported to have risen up to 1m around 4am, causing several sections, including the dining hall and preschool classroom, to be flooded.
