KUCHING: The Sarawak Secondary School Principals’ Association (PPSMS) is holding its 54th Education Management Conference from July 1 until July 4 at the Riverside Majestic Hotel here.

The annual affair is attended by 193 participants from schools all over Sarawak.

PPSMS chairman Abang Othman Abang Masagus said that the conference functions as a platform for principals to receive the latest information on transformational leadership from the Education Ministry and professional speakers in efforts to support the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2013-2025.

“It is also an opportunity for school leaders from all over the state to get together to share their experiences and knowledge,” he elaborated during the opening ceremony yesterday.

Numerous professional and social programmes have been scheduled over the four-day conference as an initiative to achieve the objectives mentioned.

One of the sessions held yesterday was a workshop to discuss current issues in education, which covered pressing topics such as quality of teachers and the professional and organised management of discipline in students.
