MIRI:  Minister for Transport, Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin stated on Tuesday (Nov 15) that the jam along the Miri By-pass road until the Pujut  flyover up to the Southlake/Vista Perdana traffic lights the day before was due to a mobile crane parked by the roadside.

He pointed out that the crawl was not related to the new Southlake/Vista Perdana traffic light junction.

“After investigation by Public Works Department  (JKR) Miri Division, it was found that the traffic jam was due to a mobile crane parked illegally, obstructing traffic,” said Lee.

He added that based on the development plan, a permanent dual carriageway would be constructed when the new Suruhanjaya Perumahan Nasional Berhad (SPNB)  housing project starts.

“As such, in order to go into Vista Perdana, developer Naim will construct a temporary access connecting to the Pan Borneo Highway,” Lee pointed out.

The temporary access would be completed before Christmas.
