KUCHING: The public are invited to join a webinar organised by Yayasan Perpaduan Sarawak (YPS) on Saturday (Aug 20), called ‘The Art of Pottery; The Evolution of Sarawak Pottery’.

According to a statement, the fourth series of Things That Bind Us (TTBU) webinar would talk about and discuss pottery evolution and its shared characteristics that bind people together.

The webinar is moderated by Ranee Artisan Gallery founder and director Datin Rosemarie Wong while the speakers are Dr Franca Cole, who works for the Sarawak Museum Department as a conservation and archaeology consultant; Ally Enterprise founder Nabilah Abdullah, and Gardencraft.co founder Tuson Chong.

“This webinar seeks to investigate various strategies for revitalising Sarawak’s iconic pottery traditions, particularly among the younger generation, as well as to assess the business prospects of Sarawak’s traditional pottery industry and to explore contemporary marketing strategies in the modern era, with an emphasis on how it shapes and influences racial interaction in the Sarawak community,” the statement said.
