KANOWIT: A puppy’s curious exploration in Rh Asap Nanga Ngungun, took an unexpected turn when it fell into a drain yesterday (Sept 6).

Its cry for help managed to reach the ears of a concerned villager, but nothing could be done as the puppy was trapped inside a concrete drain.

The Civil Defence Force (APM) was promptly alerted to the incident around 4.25 pm and a three-member team was despatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, the team met with the villager who had reported the puppy’s situation.

Equipped with a catchpole (a long stick with a noose on one end), the puppy was safely rescued from the drain.

Once freed, the puppy soaked in drain water, continue its exploration elsewhere and the rescue operation ended around 5.30 pm.
