KUCHING: The Sarawak Wood Industry Development Corporation (Pusaka) has contributed RM337,000 to 65 charitable organisations as part of its annual contribution for the month of Ramadan.

The recipients included welfare, religious, educational, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

Deputy Premier and Pusaka Management Board chairman Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan handed over the contributions during the Annual Donation Ceremony of Pusaka and its subsidiaries held at Wisma Sumber Alam here today (Mar 28).

He noted that the contribution is made without considering religious and cultural backgrounds, thereby benefitting all segments of society in need of assistance.

“By carrying out charitable work like this, we can at least help those in need according to our capabilities. At the same time, we can strengthen the bonds of friendship among different religious communities.”

Awang Tengah added that financial contributions like this can help the recipients carry out their activities more actively and effectively.

He also commended the dedication of Pusaka’s management and subsidiaries for ensuring the success of this meaningful initiative.
