KUCHING: Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib, the wife of the late Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, reaffirmed her commitment to stay in Malaysia while asserting her rights.

Currently residing in Kuala Lumpur, Raghad is observing her Iddah period, a time of mourning and reflection following her husband’s passing.

In a heartfelt message to her friends and followers on Instagram, she made known her decision to fight for her right to return home to Kuching, amidst the challenges she currently faces.

“Alhamdulillah, I am still in Malaysia, fighting for my right to return to my home in Kuching.

“As I mentioned before, I will not leave the country and will continue upholding my late husband’s legacy by supporting Sarawakians through the Ragad Foundation.

“Your inquiries on my whereabouts and the Iddah are not only thoughtful but also a testament to the caring nature of our community,” she said yesterday.

Expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support she has received, Raghad thanked well-wishes from the community.
