MIRI: Following a raid on Saturday, the 12rh Battalion of General Operations Force (GOF) in Miri seized illegal cigarettes and alcohol with unpaid taxes worth RM238,387.
According to Miri district police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, during the raid, the GOF also detained a local man to assists in their investigations on the case.
The suspect is currently being detained at Miri Central Police Station for further investigation.
“The case is investigated under Section 135 (1) (d) of the Customs Act 1967,” he said.
