SIBU: Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee has his hands full – as far as Hari Raya visits are concerned.

The Deputy Minister for Education, Innovation, and Talent Development and his entourage are scheduled to visit more than 22 houses in his Nangka constituency in conjunction with the ongoing Hari Raya celebration.

According to Dr Annuar, the Nangka Assemblyman, he aims to revive the tradition of going door to door (visiting during Hari Raya), which has been declining lately.

“Hopefully, with these efforts, we can revitalise or continue this tradition among the new generation,” he said when met by reporters after visiting four houses at Kampung Hilir during the ‘Bejarah Raya’ programme here last night (April 18).

He said the programme is a continuation of the ‘Ketuk Sahur’ where he and his entourage knocked on over 500 houses for sahur (pre-dawn meal).

“During the ‘Ketuk Sahur’ programme, we provided aid to the needy, disabled, and orphans in my constituency, reaching over 900 people,” he said, adding that they will try to visit as many houses as they can before the next Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting.
