KUCHING: Rise of Social Efforts (ROSE) will hold a voter registration drive at Aeon Mall today (Dec 1) from 11am to 7pm.
The location will be at the Centre Court (in front of Bata Primavera and The Face Shop), at ground floor of the mall.
ROSE encourages all Sarawakians aged 21 and above who have not yet registered to do so.
In a statement yesterday, ROSE said in view of the State Election to be held latest by June 2021, it would take up to four to six months for the Election Commission (EC) to process each new voter registration application.
“Although the constitutional amendment for automatic voter registration and for the voting age to be brought down to 18 has been passed and gazetted, technically it has yet to be implemented.
“In order not to miss out on exercising your democratic rights as a citizen of Malaysia in the state of Sarawak, those of voting age are urged to register immediately,” it stressed.
