Rep allocates another RM200,000 to school

KUCHING: Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap will be allocating another RM200,000 to upgrade and repair the facilities of SMK DPHA Gapor, Jalan Stampin here.

The rural transformation programme (RTP) fund was allocated during his visit to the  school to identify a suitable site as well as to gather inputs and suggestions from the representatives of the school on the design of the new toilet.

The proposed construction of the new toilet which cost RM150,000 was approved under his RTP 2023 Programme.  

During his visit, Yap requested the Public Works Department (PWD) officers to speed up the preparation of the scope of works for the new toilet.

He also urged the school administration to urgently get the approval from the Sarawak Education Department so that the construction works could commence and parents, teachers and students could enjoy its benefits.

“I will continue to coordinate with PWD and the school administration to avoid  any delay in the implementation of this RTP project,” he said.

He also expressed his commitment to ensure that all school facilities in the Kota Sentosa constituency were satisfactory.

“A good learning environment with good facilities in schools creates students who are comfortable, confident, who make friends easily, take risks and aren’t afraid to make mistakes.

“It can also help students feel more comfortable with their teachers and will also create a learning environment that is positive and can lead to greater student achievements,” he said.
