SARATOK: Seliman Bandang, who was once recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records (MBoR) as the oldest man in the country in 2021, is now frail and bedridden at Saratok Hospital.

According to Kalaka assemblyman Mohamad Duri, who visited the 113-year and five-month-old elderly figure, Seliman has been in the hospital for over a week.

“I was informed by the head of Kampung Mulok and immediately visited him, and from what we saw, his condition is very frail,” he said during the visit.

He further explained that Seliman’s family is closely connected with him from the Klua Longhouse.

“Seliman was a close friend of my late father, and our families have always supported each other from the past until now.

“I used to play at his longhouse during my childhood.

“Alhamdulillah, today my sister and I had the opportunity to visit him. We have deep sympathy for his condition, and we pray for his recovery,” he said.
