ROLLAND Duat Jubin (GPS-Meluan) requested for a new clinic to be built in Julau since the current available clinic is in bad condition and rundown.

“The area really needs a new clinic to replace the existing clinic which is more than 50 years old. The community is requesting for a proper modern clinic to replace the old wooden clinic,” he said.

Apart from that, he wanted all longhouses in his constitutency to be connected by roads, as connectivity is very important for social and economic growth.

“Of course, Rome was not built in a day, but I believe with the strong mandate, the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) has the ability to revive and improve the delivery of public services,” he said.

On another note, he also called on the Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB) to provide a dedicated water tank for every longhouse and individual house affected at Jalan KJD and refill it everyday at least during the coming Gawai celebration.

Duat also requested for the installation of antennas in the completed telecommunication towers at the area along Jalan KJD, Pan Borneo as a few towers have been completed without an antenna.

“I would like to request for more Sarawak Rural Broadband Network (MySRBN) in Meluan to speed up internet connectivity in the area.”
He also proposed to the state government establish “Sarawak Agro Shop” in rural areas like Meluan.

“For starters, Sarawak Agro Shop can be the dealer for Sarawak fertiliser. In applauding YB Datuk Sri Minister of MANRED direction towards production incentive instead of traditional subsidy giveaway, we can use Sarawak Agro Shop to incentivise our farmers.

“As example, if a is farmer able to produce one metric tonne of pepper, he or she will be eligible for 50 percent discount on a bag of fertiliser or cash coupons at Sarawak Agro Shop.”
