MUKAH: Kampung Penakub Bazaar residents gathered and celebrated Christmas and New Year 2021 in their own way at the bazaar here on Sunday (Dec27).
It was a very simple but meaningful double celebration for the small bazaar residents, comprising Chinese, Melanau and others.
The event was organised by the Kampung Penakub Bazaar village development and security committee (JKKK), Neighbourhood Watch Committee (KRT) and Saberkas Kampung Penakub Bazaar Unit.
During the two-hour gathering, the JKKK and KRT presented Christmas gifts to 104 families.
Three individuals were presented with cash aid while 10 families received food aid from FoodBank YAPEIM.
Mukah district People’s Volunteers Corps (Rela) officer Awang Rahman Sahari together with JKKK and KRT chairmen and Kapitan Kueh Bing Chuan and others assisted in distributing the gifts and contributions.
