RM10,000 grant for Kenyalang Journalism Awards

MIRI: Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Communication Affairs, Information and Ukas), Datuk Abdullah Saidol, has presented a grant of RM10,000 to support the upcoming Kenyalang Journalism Awards 2022.

The grant was handed over when a delegation from the Federation of Sarawak Journalist Association (FSJA) paid a courtesy call on him at his office in Kuching recently.

The office bearers from Kuching Division Journalists Association (KDJA) led by president Ronnie Teo Teck Wei and FSJA 2nd Assistant president and KDJA advisor Jacqueline Radoi with FSJA President Andy Jong Wan Joon held a meeting at Wisma Bapa Malaysia in Kuching.

During the meeting, Jong gave Saidol a letter to invite him to attend the award ceremony to be held here on December 9 at Imperial Hotel Miri.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg is expected to officiate at the event.

Entries for Kenyalang Journalism Awards 2022 (KJA 2022) are now open. The closing date for submission of entries is the coming September 9.

All articles published between September 1, 2021 and August 31, 2022 may compete for the awards.

Each individual or goup can submit a maximum of three entries.

The online form can be accessed on the Malaysia Press Institute (MPI) website https://mpi.my/kja-2022.

Soft copies of articles may be submitted via cloud storage while hard copies may be sent via the traditional postal system to the Malaysian Press Institute. The deadline for submission is September 9, 2022.
