RM27.99 mln SRDC project in design stage: Dr Penguang

THE proposed RM27,999,500 Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC) project in Sibu Jaya has been approved under the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) and is currently in the design stage.

Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil said the procurement of the project through open tender is scheduled for the end of this year and is expected to be completed in 2025.

“The site for the proposed new SDRC building is at Lot 7200, Block 1, Menyan Land District Sibu Jaya.

“To be exact it is located at Sibu Jaya Township, opposite the SRDC public library and police station, and adjoining the proposed 14-acre  Sibu Jaya Central Park,” he said.

He said this is reply to Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh (PSB-Bawang Assan) who wanted to know the status of the project during question-and-answer session today.

Tayai said the proposal for the construction project of the Lingga District Administrative Complex has been listed under the 12MP Mid-Term Review, with an allocation ceiling of RM7  million.

He said this in response to Dayang Noorazah Awang Sohor (GPS-Lingga) on asked about the status of the construction of the complex.

“The government is committed to enhancing the capacity of Sarawak’s public service machinery to strengthen the quality of service delivery to the people,” he added.
