RoboHeritage technology programme a bridge ‘connecting past with future’: Snowdan

SIBU: Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Snowdan Lawan says the RoboHeritage: Bridging Art, Culture and Innovation in Sarawak programme “serves as a bridge that connects our past with our future”.

He said it illustrates technology as a powerful tool in preserving and evolving one’s cultural identity.

“Today, we find ourselves at the intersection of tradition and cutting-edge technology, as we embark on a journey to explore the dynamic fusion of robotics, heritage, and creativity.

“Sarawak, with its rich cultural tapestry and forward-thinking spirit, provides the perfect backdrop for this unique convergence.

“In the digital age, we must recognise the importance of preserving and celebrating our cultural heritage while embracing the transformative power of innovation,” he said in his speech when officiating at the programme which was organised by Sarawak Digital Media E- Platform Association at University of Technology Sarawak (UTS) here today.

The programme is a collaboration among the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts (MTCP), DJI Dronekaki Sarawak, and UTS.

The one-day programme witnessed an impressive line-up of speakers, exhibitions, and interactive sessions that delved into the intricate relationship between robotics and heritage.

From traditional art forms enhanced by modern technology to innovative solutions addressing cultural preservation, the event was a stimulating exploration of the possibilities at the crossroads of tradition and innovation.

“I extend sincere gratitude to the organisers, partners, and contributors who have made this event possible.

“Your dedication to fostering a dialogue between art, culture, and technology is commendable, and we are confident that ‘Roboheritage’ will leave an indelible mark on the landscape of innovation and cultural appreciation,” he said.
