KUCHING: Julau incumbent Datuk Larry Sng has been confirmed as the president of Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) by the Registrar of Societies (RoS).

RoS director-general Mohd Nawardi Saad said based on records, Sng is still the president of the party.

“If there is a dispute regarding the position, it has to be resolved at the party level.

“This is an internal party matter. If there is any dispute, they have to settle it themselves and this does not involve RoS,” he was quoted as saying in a Berita Harian.

Amidst news of internal power struggle in the party, Sng on October 26 insisted that he is the president of PBM and had never resigned and relinquished his party leadership.

Two days later, Sng announced that Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin, who is said to be the designated president of PBM, has been suspended.

“In accordance with PBM’s constitution Fasal 60 (iii), I have taken the decision to suspend 12 individuals from their positions within the supreme council with immediate effect.

“This includes also the suspension of Zuraida Kamaruddin as an ordinary member of PBM.

“This is in relation to their ongoing involvement in undermining the interest of the party and its leadership,” said Sng.
