RWMF tickets on sale now

KUCHING: The tickets to the Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) 2022’s virtual performances are finally up for grabs today on its official website.

According to the statement by the Sarawak Tourism Board yesterday, the RWMF this year themed ‘25th Legendary Rainforest Celebration’ will be held as a hybrid event with the physical concert taking place at Sarawak Cultural Village while viewers at home can watch it via an online platform.

“Priced at RM25 for an evening and night show each throughout the three-day festival from June 17 to June 19, online viewers will get to enjoy a showcase of local and international performers performing live on the physical stage together with curated original video content,” it said.

It added that RWMF would feature a host of international performers while showcasing a string of Malaysia’s own talents such as Alena Murang, At Adau from Sarawak, Bamboo Woods from Sabah and many more.

“For the RWMF virtual performances slot from 7.00 – 8.00pm on June 17, there will be an opening performance by Majlis Seni Sarawak, followed by Joey Ayala (Philippines), ASZA (Canada), Trad Attack (Estonia), Matthew Ngau (Sarawak) and Arthur Borman (Sarawak).

“After this, there will be performances by Jurij Fedynskyj (Ukraine), Blue Canyon Boys (USA) Phương Bảo (Vietnam), Jerry Kamit & Friends (Sarawak),
Gendang Melanau (Sarawak), Abigail Washburn (USA) and Dong Lusheng (China) in action”

It further disclosed that on Day 2 (June 18), they will be showcases by Fauziah Gambus & The Geng (Sabah), Issui Minegishi (Japan), Genticorum (Canada) and Desmond Junek (Sarawak) during the first hour followed by performances by Kevin Kolodner (USA), At Adau (Sarawak), Shashank Subramanyam (India), Genggong Kutus (Indonesia).

On Day 3, audiences can look forward to Flame of the Forest (Singapore), Timo Väänänen (Finland), Lau Muang (Thailand) and Silk and Bamboo (Japan), while the following hour will highlight performance by Debashish Battacharya (India), Yayi Cai (China), Tarika (Madagascar) and Rining Peter Paris (Sarawak).
