MIRI:  Membership of Sarawak National Youth Organisation or Saberkas is open to all Sarawakians regardless of race. It is not exclusively for Bumiputeras.

Sarawak Saberkas’s vice-president Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi clarified this yesterday during “Majlis Ramah Tamah Hari Raya 2019” by Saberkas Piasau branch and presentation of prizes to the winners of its sport carnival (Kasus).

Badminton, netball and futsal tournaments were held during the sport carnival on Saturday.

Dr Abdul Rahman, who is also Rural Electricity Assistant Minister, explained that the main objectives of Saberkas were to groom Sarawak’s future leaders.

He said Saberkas Sarawak now had 130,000 members.

Abdul Rahman also praised Piasau Saberkas and Senadin Saberkas for their active participation in organising events in their respective areas.

Also present at yesterday’s Raya gathering were Piasau assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting, who is also Piasau Saberkas chairman cum Saberkas Sarawak vice-president, Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau, political secretaries to the Chief Minister Julani Mokthar and Sharkawi Suhaili, Miri Resident Mastapha Julaihi and Miri District Officer Abdul Aziz Mohamad Yusuf.
