Samsung electronics unveils latest range of devices, innovations

SINGAPORE: Samsung Electronics Corporation Ltd introduced its latest range of devices and innovations, as well as outlined its vision and strategy for intelligent Internet of Things (IoT) experiences at the 2019 Samsung Southeast Asia and Oceania Forum here.

The consumer electronics company also showcased its connected solutions based on its intelligence platform, “New Bixby”.

Among the products introduced by Samsung were its 2019 QLED TV range, “The Frame” lifestyle TV, next-generation “Family Hub” refrigerator and revolutionary “QuickDrive” washing machine technology.

Samsung Southeast Asia and Oceania president and chief executive officer Steve Lee said the company’s entire 2019 QLED TV line-up would be available in more than 60 markets this year.

“Samsung Electronics celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Through decades of meaningful innovation, we have not just made a great product, but created an entire new category to enable consumers to do whatever they couldn’t before.

“All of our innovations are linked to a bold vision for connected living, devices, connectivity, intelligence, and this is what makes us truly unique,” he said at the forum yesterday.

Among the key products unveiled in the 2019 QLED line-up were a suite of 8K and 4K TVs, including the 8K Q900R that ranged from 65-inch to 98-inch screen sizes, as well as the 4K Q90R, Q80R, Q70R and Q60R that ranged from 43-inch to 82-inch.

In total, the expanded 2019 QLED line-up featured more than 20 models and included the more ultra-large TV models.

To provide more entertainment options and open platform functionality, Samsung Smart TVs would offer a new iTunes Movies and TV Shows apps and support Apple AirPlay 2.

Samsung also showcased its revolutionary next generation washing machine technology, “QuickDrive”, which provided consumers with the power to dramatically reduce by half, the time taken to wash a load of laundry.

Marking its 10 anniversary, the forum was also a platform for the company to share and outline its business strategy and vision with key partners.
