SARATOK: A search and rescue (SAR) operations is underway for a senior citizen reported missing in her farm at Kampung Semarang, Pusa on Friday (Nov 13).

Saratok fire chief PPgB Nazry Mohamat stated that they received a call from Beladin police station around 10.05pm, requesting for assistance to search for the missing victim.

Earlier that (Friday) morning, the victim identified as Rahobah Murni, 69, was believed to have gone to her farm alone but did not return in the evening.

At 4.30pm, the victim’s sister sought the help of villagers to conduct a search party, which later prompted her to lodge a missing person report.

Nazry noted that SAR operations on Saturday (Nov 14) was divided into five sections involving the strength of more than 50 individuals.

He pointed out that the search involved a radius of 1km from the last location where the victim was believed to be in the farm.

Among those involved in the operation were the police, Civil Defence Force (APM), People Volunteer’s Corp (Rela) and villagers.
