MIRI: Sarawak Design Centre (Saradec) is offering design based subjects for future intakes of SayD’SignerSarawak.

In a statement yesterday, Saradec said it would expand its collaboration on the programme with other academic higher institutions.

Recently Saradec chief executive officer Dayang Nena Abang Bruce conducted a briefing on the implementation of the programme to the top management of Kolej Komuniti Miri.

The top management team, led by Kolej Komuniti Miri director Hazatta Morshidi has shown great interest in the programme.

The Sarawak Young Designers programme is a training programme developed by the Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC).

It is being held in collaboration with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) and Fakultas Seni Rupa dan Desain (FSRD), Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Indonesia since 2018.

A total of 32 fresh graduates from Unimas have been trained with 21 of them having completed the two-year training programme.

Effective Jan 2022, the training programme will be implemented by Saradec Management Sdn Bhd.
